Randall (Randy) Pentiuk is a Metro Detroit attorney who specializes in municipal counsel, housing cooperative law, non-profit entities, and business law. Mr. Pentiuk serves as legal counsel to several housing cooperatives throughout the country, but primarily in the Detroit and Chicago regions. He also serves as legal counsel to several municipalities in the Metropolitan Detroit area, as well as counsel to several local businesses.

Since 1985, Mr. Pentiuk has been involved in all aspects of representing housing cooperatives, providing services spanning the full spectrum of the legal affairs of cooperatives. These services range from researching and drafting legal opinions and rules, representation in all courts and tribunals, preparing and reviewing contracts, employment and personnel matters, advising the Board of Directors. This includes dealing with HUD and MSHDA, drafting bylaw and articles of incorporation amendments, refinancing mortgages and handling share loans.

Representing over thirty cooperatives, Mr. Pentiuk leads the premier law firm in the Michigan housing cooperative field. He publishes the Michigan Cooperative Law Journal, providing timely and informative material to the Boards of all housing cooperatives in the State. He has written numerous articles on the subject and three primers, the "Cooperative Law Primer," "100 Ways to Improve Your Cooperative," and "A Primer for New Cooperative Board Members," which he has made available for free to Board members.

He serves on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Housing Cooperatives (NAHC), and is the Michigan Vice President for the Midwest Association of Housing Cooperatives (MAHC).  He frequently teaches courses at both the NAHC and MAHC Annual Conferences, and has written legal articles for their publications. He received the "C. March Miller II Award" for outstanding service to MAHC.

Mr. Pentiuk is also strongly committed to the ideals of supporting the local community through successful municipal governance, and in this regard proudly serves as legal counsel to the cities of Riverview and Allen Park, and special counsel to the cities of Taylor, Southgate and Ecorse. Mr. Pentiuk provides counsel on various matters, including labor issues, contracts, general litigation, real estate, and election and governance procedure. In addition, Mr. Pentiuk oversees the Prosecution department for the cities of Riverview, Allen Park and Wyandotte. Mr. Pentiuk is a member of the Michigan Municipal League and the National Association of Parliamentarians.

A member of the American Bar Association's Forum on Affordable Housing and Community Development Law, Mr. Pentiuk is also a member of the Michigan State Bar's committee dealing with housing cooperatives.  He has been named a "Michigan Super Lawyer", a recognition awarded to the top 5% of Michigan attorneys. Randall has also received the Martindale-Hubbell Client Distinction Award, an honor of distinction accorded to less than 1% of the 900,000+ attorneys listed on martindale.com and lawyers.com.
